Welcome To
Riverview Cemetery

Serving the Alle-Kiski Community with Dignity Since 1908

Located in Apollo, PA, Riverview Cemetery has been serving generations of Alle-Kiski area families for over 100 years. The Old Apollo Cemetery, founded in 1868 by prominent citizens Thomas A. Cochran, John B. Chambers and General Samuel M. Jackson, soon proved to be too small for the rapidly growing town. So in 1908, Hugh Owens and his sons established Riverview Cemetery on nineteen acres immediately North of the Apollo Cemetery.

Our cemetery welcomes all religions and cultures. We are an independent, non-denominational perpetual care cemetery open to visitors every day from dawn until dusk.

Whether you’re attending a burial service, visiting a loved one, participating in a community event, or simply enjoying the landscape, we hope you find our cemetery both peaceful and inviting.

For the best view of the Kiskiminetas River valley, take the time to visit the newest section at the top of the hill, where you can see nearly all of our well-maintained and scenic grounds.

What We Offer

Too often, we tend to put off choices about our final arrangements until we actually lose a loved one. Then, on one of the worst days of our lives, we are burdened with a host of questions, choices and hard decisions that could have been made years earlier, easing the blow of a terrible loss. Purchasing your burial plots “pre-need,“ is a smart move for so many reasons, both emotional and financial.

Ground Burial

Riverview Cemetery offers a wide selection of beautiful, serene traditional burial plots throughout our scenic grounds. In many cases, we can offer plots nearby or even immediately next to older family lots. We offer both memorial (flush lawn marker) type lots and upright headstone lots.

Cremation Options

Families opting for cremation can choose plots for ground burial, or select a niche in our beautiful columbarium. The Riverview Cemetery Cremation Garden was conceived in 2006, and was designed by renowned cemetery architects Grever & Ward. The first of its kind in the Kiski Valley, it consists of a three-phase development plan. The Phase One Columbarium by KMI Columbaria was installed and opened in 2007.
